Located in the town of Sakura in Chiba Prefecture, Tsukimachi Okakumya Shrine is a Shinto shrine dedicated to the deity Tsukiyomi-no-kami, also known as the Moon God. The shrine's architecture reflects its role as a sacred site for maritime trade and fishing. Its wooden torii gate is adorned with a beautiful lacquerwork screen depicting scenes of fishing villages and boats.

Visitor tip
To gain access to the shrine's inner grounds, visitors must first pass through a sacred gatehouse where they can receive a blessing from the shrine's staff.
