火防稲荷大明神

Located in the town of Katsuta, Ibaraki Prefecture, Shikine-jinja Shrine is a well-known Shinto shrine dedicated to Fire God (Kazehayami no Okami) and Inari. Founded in the Nara period, the shrine is famous for its beautiful garden, traditional architecture, and vibrant autumn foliage. The shrine's main hall, Haiden, features intricate carvings and ornate decorations.

Cultural notes

Inari is the primary deity enshrined at Shikine-jinja Shrine. The Fire God, Kazehayami no Okami, also has a strong connection with the shrine. During the Obon festival, lanterns are placed on the shrine's pathways to guide spirits back to their homes.
