Goshitei Ōdō is a Shinto shrine located in the town of Yuzawa, Niigata Prefecture, and serves as the imperial shrine where emperors are traditionally enshrined. Founded in 1874 by Emperor Meiji, Goshitei Ōdō marks the site where the emperor's parents were married. The shrine is dedicated to the Amaterasu Ōmikami, the Shinto sun goddess and a symbol of imperial power.
