Tokyo's oldest Shinto shrine, Otsuka Shrine was originally built in 645 AD as a Buddhist temple, but was later converted to Shintoism in the Heian period. The shrine is dedicated to the Shinto deity Otohime, daughter of the sea god Ryujin.
