Tokujichibo Shrine, located in the city of Himeji in Hyogo Prefecture, is a Shinto shrine dedicated to the kami of the Tokujicho district. The shrine is famous for its beautiful garden and traditional architecture. Founded in 1742 by the daimyo (feudal lord) of the Tokujicho domain, the shrine has played an important role in the local community's daily life. The shrine is also known for its unique torii gate, which is said to be one of the oldest in Japan.

Visitor tip

Cultural notes

The shrine also holds an annual festival in November, known as the Koyo Matsuri, which celebrates the changing colors of the leaves.
