Ise Grand Shrine's sister shrine, located in Futo, Shizuoka Prefecture, is Ise Hachimangu Shrine dedicated to the sun goddess Amaterasu. The shrine was built in 1610 during the Edo period and features a distinctive vermilion-colored torii gate. It is famous for its beautiful gardens and traditional architecture.

Cultural notes
Ise Hachimangu Shrine is famous for its 'miko' (shrine maidens) who perform traditional dances and music. The shrine also hosts a monthly festival called 'Saijou no Hanabi' which features fireworks displays and traditional performances.
Historical note
The shrine was rebuilt in 1633 after being destroyed by fire, and it has since been restored to its current form.
