春日神社

Spring Miyako Shrine in Osaka is dedicated to the Shinto goddess of fertility, spring, and childbearing, Mizu no kami, but more commonly associated with the sun goddess Amaterasu and her consort Susanoo no mikoto, as well as Hachiman, a god known for patronage of warriors. Its architecture reflects the Heian period style, and its main hall is adorned with beautiful sliding doors made of cypress wood. The shrine's name 'Spring' likely refers to the season during which it was first established. It is believed to have been founded in 645 CE.

Visitor tip
