Located in the heart of Osaka, Eight Saints Shrine is one of Japan's most famous and historically significant Shinto shrines. Dating back to the 7th century, this shrine was originally dedicated to the worship of Hachiman, the god of war and patron deity of the imperial family. Over time, it has come to be revered for its eight saints, each associated with a different aspect of life: prosperity, wisdom, longevity, and more. Visitors can still see remnants of the ancient temple's design in the shrine's current structure, which boasts a striking vermillion torii gate.
