Located in the city of Akita, Sanbutsu Jinja is a Shinto shrine dedicated to the worship of the three upper deities (Sanbutsu). Cultural notes
Sanbutsu Jinja is closely associated with the worship of Inari Okami, the god of rice and fertility. The shrine's complex is also believed to be connected to the legend of the samurai warrior who was said to have been summoned by the god before his battle. During the New Year (Oshogatsu) festival, visitors can participate in traditional rituals and purification ceremonies.
