玉津島神社

Kagawa

Located on the island of Shikoku, Tatsunoshima Shrine in Kagawa Prefecture is one of the most important Shinto shrines dedicated to the god of storms and fertility, Susanoo no Mikoto's brother, Kunibiki no Mikoto was not enshrined here but it has a shrine for him, however, the primary kami enshrined is Susanoo, with whom Tatsunoshima has historical ties dating back to 12th-century records. The shrine's current structure is from the Meiji period (1868-1912), reflecting its status as one of Japan's oldest and most revered shrines. Its location on the coast makes it a significant site for maritime trade and agriculture.
