Yamagata

Hokuroku, a sacred scroll in the care of Dejima Shrine's treasure repository, is said to be an imperial copy from the Heian period (794-1185). At Kusanagi Shrine, visitors can witness the historic scrolls and artifacts that showcase the shrine's rich cultural heritage. In Yamagata Prefecture, the shrine honors the Shinto deity Susanoo-no-Mikoto, believed to have played a significant role in the origins of rice cultivation.
