月山神社

Miyagi

Located in the scenic town of Yoneshima, Moon Mountain Shrine is dedicated to the Shinto deity of love and fertility, Ryujin, as well as the local god, Ise no Okami. The shrine's architecture reflects traditional Japanese designs with a wooden torii gate and tiled roofs. Visitors can admire the beautiful gardens, including a large tree said to be over 1,000 years old.

Visitor tip

For a unique experience, try visiting Moon Mountain Shrine during cherry blossom season (late March to early April) and attend one of the traditional Shinto ceremonies held at the shrine.
