Meta-mi-ira-ho-sha is a Shinto shrine located in Akita Prefecture, dedicated to the god of agriculture and fertility. The shrine's name, which literally translates to 'old rice field', reflects its historic location on an ancient rice field. Founded during the Heian period (794-1185 CE), the shrine has been worshipped by local farmers for centuries.

Visitor tip
