Akibashigahara Shrine, located in the city of Sendai, Miyagi Prefecture, is a Shinto shrine dedicated to the protection of travelers and the safe passage of those on their way to the nearby Seiryu-ji Temple. The shrine's history dates back to the Heian period, during which it was an important stop for pilgrims traveling to the temple. Over time, the shrine has been rebuilt several times, with the current structure dating back to the Kamakura period.
