Imago Eight-Faced Buddha statue is a well-known symbol of Imanosekikinari Shrine, located in the city of Kobe in Hyogo Prefecture. For an authentic experience, visit during cherry blossom season ( late March to early April) to see the beautiful plum blossoms surrounding the shrine.
Cultural notes
Imanosekikinari Shrine is famous for its unique festival called 'Akashi-Matsuri', which honors Inari Okami. During this festival, a large Eight-Faced Buddha statue is moved from one temple to another and finally back to its original location.
