The Ōreiji Jinja is a Shinto shrine located in the city of Shimoda, Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan. It is one of the oldest shrines on the Izu Peninsula and has been an important site for the local community for centuries. The shrine's name, Ōreiji, means "Great God Shrine" or "Shrine of the Great God", and it is dedicated to the worship of a number of kami, including those associated with agriculture, fertility, and protection.

Cultural notes
