Located in the town of Utsunomiya, Tochigi Prefecture, Yatsuogasugi Shrine is a Shinto shrine dedicated to the kami of rice and fertility. The shrine is famous for its beautiful cherry blossoms and historic architecture. According to local legend, the shrine was founded by the gods themselves, who appeared in the form of a large pine tree. Visitor tip

Yatsuogasugi Shrine is connected to the mythology of the Japanese rice goddess, Amaterasu.
