Reshi no Tsuki-take Shrine, located in Miyagi Prefecture, is dedicated to the sun goddess Amaterasu and her son Susanoo. The shrine's name, Reshi, means 'sun god' or 'sun deity.' The shrine is famous for its unique architecture and beautiful garden, which features a large stone statue of an elephant-headed deity, known as Yamabiko, believed to be a protector of the shrine.

Cultural notes
As an important Shinto shrine, Reshi no Tsuki-take is associated with the mythology of Amaterasu and Susanoo. During the New Year (Oshogatsu), visitors often leave coins at the shrine's entrance to bring good fortune. The shrine also hosts a traditional dance performance called 'Yamabiko Odori' in honor of Yamabiko, the elephant-headed deity.
