金華山神社

Gold Pavilion Shrine, located in the heart of Sendai City, is a beautiful Shinto shrine dedicated to Inari Okami, patron deity of rice and fertility. The shrine's main hall is famous for its striking gold-painted pavilion, which is rebuilt every year during the autumn festival. Visitors can admire the vibrant autumn foliage while strolling through the shrine grounds, which also feature several smaller shrines and historic buildings.

Historical note

The shrine was founded in 1456 by Date Masamune, a powerful daimyo (feudal lord), who worshipped Inari Okami for his success in battle.
