Located in the city of Sendai, Mikasa Shrine is a Shinto shrine dedicated to the kami Mikasa no Okami and other deities. As one of the oldest shrines in Miyagi Prefecture, it has a rich history dating back to the 6th century. The shrine's name literally translates to 'the shrine of three-turning wheels,' referring to its unique torii gate design. Visitors can explore the shrine grounds, which include several traditional buildings and a pond with a famous stone lantern.
