Cultural notes
Mikami Shrine is famous for its autumn leaf viewing festival, 'koyo', which attracts many visitors from across Japan. The shrine also hosts a unique festival called 'Mikami no Matsuri' to celebrate the harvest season.

Founded in 733 AD during the Nara period, Mikami Shrine is one of the oldest Shinto shrines in the Hikone region.
