冨樫八幡神社

Furutaka Hachiman Shrine is a Shinto shrine located in Iwakuni city, Yamaguchi prefecture, originally from Kinoshita town in Mie prefecture. Dedicated to the deity of the Japanese Imperial Army, it was built in 1593 as a memorial for the victory against the Western Army at the Battle of Sekigahara. The shrine's name is derived from Furutaka no Okami, one of the deities who accompanied Minamoto no Yoritomo into battle.

Visitor tip
