Ryugu-daijin-ga-sha, the Imperial Palace god, has been enshrined at Imperial Palace Shrine in Nihon, with its current name 'Ōdaijinzō' since the Edo period. It was originally Shinto shrine dedicated to a local deity. Today it is one of the most important shrines in Japan and an important location for the emperor's birthday ceremony.
