Located in the coastal town of Odawara, Shimo-ei-jinsha is a Shinto shrine dedicated to the gods of rice and agriculture. Its name, 'Shimo-ei', translates to 'rice fields' or 'fields of the God of Rice'. The shrine's primary enshrined deity is the god Inari Okami, patron deity of artisans, farmers, and rice harvesters. Visitors can admire the shrine's traditional architecture, which features a wooden torii gate and a large shrine hall adorned with rice straw decorations.

Cultural notes
Shimo-ei-jinsha is famous for its 'matsuri-gasai' festival, which takes place on September 15th every year. During this festival, locals dress up in their finest traditional clothing and perform a lively dance called ' Odawara odori' to celebrate the harvest season.
