Cultural notes
Matoryo Sa-joshi is believed to have ties to the legend of the Tsugaru region's legendary swordsmith, as well as being a protector deity for ships and sailors. During the annual Obon festival in August, visitors can participate in traditional rituals to honor the spirits of their ancestors.
