Akizukesayamagusha, located in the heart of Sendai, was originally dedicated to Hachiman and later renamed Autumn Leaf Shrine after a prominent image of autumn leaves depicted on its gate. Dedicated to the spirits that inhabit all autumn leaves, this shrine is believed to offer blessings for good harvests and protection from diseases. The shrines' beautiful fall foliage attracts many visitors each year.
