Shizuoka

Located in the city of Fukuroi, Shizuoka Prefecture, Upper Soil Sun Goddess Ise Shrine is a historic Shinto shrine dedicated to the sun goddess Amaterasu. The shrine was built on a hill overlooking the nearby Kiso River and features traditional Japanese architecture. It is believed that the shrine's current structure dates back to the Edo period. The shrine complex includes several smaller shrines, each enshrining different kami or spirits.
