The Saigō-jūni-no-mikō Shrine is located in Nagahama, Shiga Prefecture, and honors the 12 gods of the Saigō clan who were revered by the clan's founder, Mōri Chiyōsuke. The shrine was built during the Edo period (1603-1867) to commemorate the bravery of the Saigō clan in battle. Today, visitors can see traditional architecture and experience Shinto traditions at this historic site.
