Located in the mountains of Shizuoka Prefecture, Ando-White Mountain Shrine is dedicated to the god of harvest and prosperity, named Okami no Mikoto. This shrine is one of the most famous shrines in Japan, attracting visitors from all over for its stunning architecture and beautiful gardens. The shrine's main hall is adorned with a 25-meter-tall wooden roof, which is said to be the largest of any Shinto shrine in Japan.

Cultural notes
In Ando-White Mountain Shrine, you can find several festivals throughout the year, including the Spring Fertility Festival (Haru no Miya Matsuri) in April, which honors the goddess Amaterasu and celebrates the arrival of spring. Additionally, the shrine is famous for its beautiful garden, which features a large pond and walking paths.

The current shrine was built in 1563 during the Azuchi-Momoyama period.
