Cultural notes

As one of Japan's oldest shrines, Eight Horses Shrine is closely tied to the mythology of the Taira clan and their mythical horse companions. The shrine also hosts the 'Gyoshiroku' ceremony during the autumnal equinox, where devotees pray for good fortune and prosperity.
