Cultural notes
Tsukimi-no-Matsuri, a moon viewing festival held on the 15th day of the 8th month, honors the god Tsu Dai-no-Kami who is believed to grant prosperity and good fortune to fishermen. The shrine also features beautiful sea goddess statues and intricate carvings depicting oceanic scenes.
