Located in the town of Kasaoka, Shimane Prefecture, Hieizan Hachiman-gu is a Shinto shrine dedicated to the god of war and fertility, Hachiman, who is said to have visited the area during his travels. Visitor tip

Cultural notes
Hieizan Hachiman-gu is also famous for its association with the legendary swordsmith Musashi, who was said to have received his legendary blade from Hachiman. The shrine's annual festival in May honors this mythological connection.
