新堂平神社

Shimane

New Daito Shrine in Shimane Prefecture is dedicated to the Shinto kami of New Year's first day, a deity believed to bring good luck and prosperity in the coming year. The shrine's architecture reflects the traditional Japanese style with a tiled roof and vermilion torii gate. During the Setsubun festival, which marks the beginning of spring, visitors can participate in a traditional bean-throwing ritual to ward off evil spirits.
