極楽寺

Located in the scenic town of Izumo, located at the southern end of the Honshu Island, is the extreme delight temple, or extreme joy temple, known as extreme pleasure temple, Extreme Buddhist temple in Japanese is called (rakuon-ji) which has historical ties to Buddhism but currently operates under Shinto. This is believed by many to have ties with the Inari Kami but has no primary kami. The shrine has architectural styles that reflect a mix of Heian and Kamakura periods. The shrine's unique feature is its stunning view of the nearby mountains. The shrine also hosts the famous 'Rakuon Festival' or 'festival for extreme delight' in November which celebrates harvest with Inari, the god of rice.
