Cultural notes

Inari Okami is often depicted with multiple fox tails in Japanese art and literature. The shrine hosts the annual Inari Matsuri festival in May, which features traditional dances and offerings to the deity.

Historical note

The original shrine was built in 1621 during the Edo period to commemorate the arrival of Inari Okami's messengers from Shikine Island.
