Shimane

The multiple shrines of Matsue, Shimane Prefecture, are famous for their unique architecture and connection to the legend of Izumo Takamori. The complex is comprised of eight shrines dedicated to various kami from the Izumo region, including Okina Sanzan, a group of three Shinto deities believed to reside within a single shrine.
