Visitor tip

For a unique experience, visit the shrine during the 'Yuki no Michi' (Snowy Path) event in February, where the shrine's grounds are covered with over 200 lanterns to commemorate Hachiman's birthday.

Cultural notes

The shrine is also famous for its connection to the legend of Yorimichi, a hero from Japanese mythology who was said to have been helped by Eightfold Hachiman on his journey. The shrine celebrates this myth during its annual 'Yomotsu no Oyako' festival in November.
