Koyasan Okunoin Cemetery is not associated with the shrine. However, the shrine is famous for the nearby Koyasan Okunoin Cemetery. Located in Shizuoka Prefecture,熊野神社 (Kumano Shrine) is a Shinto shrine dedicated to the Shinto deity Kumano Okūnimi no Kamī, and is particularly revered by people from the Nishinomiya region. The shrine complex features a distinctive Ryōgoku-zukuri architectural style, with a large torii gate at its entrance. Visitors can explore the shrine grounds, which include several shrines and gardens, as well as participate in traditional festivals and ceremonies. Kumano Shrine is also famous for its connection to the sacred journey of the Kumano Kodo pilgrimage route.

Kumano Okūnimi no Kamī is the deity associated with fertility and abundance. The shrine is also famous for its beautiful autumn foliage, which attracts many visitors from across Japan. During the New Year (Oshogatsu) festival, Kumano Shrine is visited by thousands of pilgrims who seek blessings and good luck.
Historical note
Kumano Okūnimi no Kamī was worshipped since the Heian period (794-1185) and was officially established as a shrine during the Edo period (1603-1867).
