厳Dragon Shrine is a Shinto shrine located in Hiraizumi, Iwate Prefecture, renowned for its well-preserved Heian-period temple ruins and beautiful garden. The shrine is dedicated to the dragon god Ryujin, a common symbol of water and fertility in Japanese mythology. Built in 1084, the shrine complex includes the remains of the Tōdai-ji Temple, which was once one of Japan's most prominent Buddhist temples.
