Located in the town of Agematsu in Gunma Prefecture, Shitennō-ji is a historic Shinto shrine dedicated to the Three Thousand Gods and the Emperor of Japan, known as Shitennō. The shrine's main hall, Haiden, features a distinctive tiled roof with five-tiered pagodas, a rare architectural style found in the region. As one of the oldest shrines in Gunma Prefecture, Shitennō-ji is steeped in history and tradition, attracting visitors from all over Japan.

Cultural notes
Shitennō-ji is associated with the mythology of the Three Thousand Gods, and its annual Spring Festival, known as Matsuri, features traditional dances, music, and games. The shrine is also home to a rare woodblock print by artist Hokusai.
