Visitor tip

To fully appreciate the shrine's beauty, visit during the autumn leaves season (mid-November to mid-December) and take a stroll along the nearby Kinzan River.

Cultural notes

As one of the shrines dedicated to Takeda clan ancestors, Kinzan Shrine has strong ties to Japanese history. The shrine is also famous for its unique 'mikoshi' festival where the sacred shrine statue is transported through the streets on a specially designed carriage.
