Cultural notes
The Ifuku Shrine is famous for its festival, Wakamiya no Matsuri, which takes place in August and honors the mountain deity. The shrine also has a unique architectural feature known as 'fusen,' where two or more buildings appear to be floating above the ground due to the use of wooden pillars.
Historical note
The shrine was rebuilt in 1888 after a fire destroyed the original structure.
