Located in the scenic Seto Inland Sea region of Tokushima Prefecture, Okurotsu Shrine is a historic Shinto temple dedicated to the deified spirit of a young boy named Okuro. According to local legend, Okuro was a kind and gentle soul who died at a young age, leaving behind his family who continued to honor him through offerings and rituals. Today, visitors can still see Okuro's shrine, along with those for various regional kami such as Shinto deities associated with the sea and agriculture.
