Visitor tip
To make a wish at the shrine, tie a small piece of cloth or string with a charm on it, known as 'fuku', around the pillar near the sea wall. Bring it back home to fulfill your desire.
Cultural notes
The shrine is famous for its connection to the legend of the gods who brought water from Mount Zao in Yamagata Prefecture to the region. The shrine's festival, Ifuku Matsuri, honors the deity and features a traditional dance performance, as well as local food and drink.
