Tonbo-ya Shrine in Gunma Prefecture is dedicated to Fujin, the wind god and messenger of the sun goddess Amaterasu. Founded in 1601, the shrine's architecture reflects the Edo period style with its wooden gates and torii. Located at the foot of Mount Asahi, Tonbo-ya Shrine is said to be the final resting place of a legendary samurai who defeated a dragon. Visitors can pray for good fortune, health, and safety by writing their wishes on paper lanterns and releasing them onto the nearby stream.
