Eight-Horned Shrine, dedicated to the Shinto kami of thunder and lightning, Enma Daikahoro, as well as the sea god, Ryujin. Located on a hill overlooking the Katsuragi Plain in Ishikawa Prefecture, this shrine is known for its striking 8.2-meter-tall torii gate adorned with wooden horns. The shrine's architecture reflects the Heian period style, with a main hall constructed during the Edo period. Visitor tip

Cultural notes
The shrine is known for its connections to the legend of the Eight Horses, said to have been led by Enma Daikahoro himself. During the Obon festival, visitors can participate in a traditional dance called 'Hina-iri,' which involves dancing around the torii gate while carrying sake cups and performing a ritual dance.
