白山神社 is a Shinto shrine located in the mountains of Ishikawa prefecture, known for its stunning natural scenery and rich cultural heritage. The shrine is dedicated to Hachiman, the god of war and patron deity of the Takeda clan, who was said to have appeared at this site in 720 CE.

Visitor tip
To fully appreciate the beauty of the shrine, visit during cherry blossom season (late March to early April) and take a hike through the nearby Mount Kaseda, which offers breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains.
Cultural notes
As a site associated with Hachiman, the shrine is also connected to the legend of the Takeda clan's rise to power. The shrine's architecture reflects the Heian period style, with a wooden torii gate and a haiden (small shrine) dedicated to the god.
Historical note
The shrine was established in 1185 by Hojo Yoshitoki, a regent of the Kamakura shogunate.
