Ishikawa

The Eight-Horsemans Shrine, located in Kanazawa's Hakkeijima district, has its origins dating back to the Heian period (794-1185 CE). Dedicated to the Shinto deity Bishamonten, a protector of the sea and prosperity, this shrine is also revered for its beautiful gardens and traditional architecture. The shrine's name, Eight-Horsemans, refers to eight statues of horsemen on horseback that adorn the entrance, believed to ward off evil spirits.
