Kodaiji-san, the White Mountain Shrine in Kanazawa's Asano district, is dedicated to the Shinto deity Amaterasu. This shrine has undergone various transformations and renovations over its history, dating back to 1537. It was once a Buddhist temple but converted to Shintoism under the influence of the Matsudaira clan. The main hall, Sanbuin, features a striking black lacquer finish known as 'kuro-mame' and is adorned with golden accents, while the shrine's torii gate stands out for its simplicity. Visitors can admire the beautiful autumn foliage or take a stroll along the Asano River.
