Located in the city of Kanazawa, Ishikawa Prefecture, Eight Horses Temple (Hachimangu) is one of Japan's most famous Shinto shrines. The complex was built to honor Hachiman, the god of war and patron deity of the Imperial Family, as well as other regional kami such as Kurokami and Fudou Myojo.

Cultural notes
The shrine's architecture reflects traditional Japanese design, with a wooden torii gate and a large honden at its center. The complex also features several smaller shrines dedicated to regional kami, showcasing the importance of local deities in Shintoism. Festivals held here include the annual Hachimangu Matsuri in August.
Historical note
Founded in 747 CE by Emperor Shōmu to appease the gods for a successful campaign against the Tang Dynasty.
